The College 

The College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare (CNMH) is a major provider of pre-registration and post-qualifying nursing, midwifery, paramedic, ODP, public health and apprenticeship education in London and Berkshire (undergraduate to doctoral). 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly and innovative Operating Department Practice team.

Our pre-registration BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practitioner 3 year fee-paying and apprenticeship course (approved by the HCPC), is delivered annually from our Paragon House campus in Brentford, West London. Delivery from our campus in Reading, is subject to viable apprenticeship numbers. 

In addition, we offer a portfolio of in demand postgraduate courses and continuing professional development opportunities for theatre nurses and qualified ODPs.   

We are on campus university that provides face to face teaching for our courses.

Lecturer 

This is a great opportunity if you're considering transitioning into higher education. You can build on the knowledge and skills you’ve developed in clinical practice in the UK. 

You will be registered with the HCPC as an Operating Department Practitioner and hold an undergraduate honours degree. A teaching qualification is not required to apply. 

You will develop and deliver learning materials that are contemporary and evidence-based, using innovative teaching and learning methodologies. You will also act as a Module Leader. 

You will demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with students, other academics, clinical practitioners, support and technical staff.  

You will undertake the role of personal tutor,  link lecturer and provide educational support for practice supervisors and assessors in clinical practice areas.    

 Senior Lecturer 

You will be registered with the HCPC as an Operating Department Practitioner, hold a Master’s degree and a teaching qualification. You will have significant post-qualifying clinical experience in operating department practice.  

You will develop and deliver learning materials that are contemporary and evidence-based, using innovative teaching and learning methodologies for delivery in the classroom and simulation centres (encompassing VR and immersive rooms). You will support the Course Leader and act as a module leader, personal tutor and link lecturer, providing educational support for practice supervisors and assessors in clinical practice areas.  

You will demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with students, other academics, clinical practitioners, support and technical staff. Essential to this position will be the ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with healthcare providers in Berkshire and London.  

As a member of the academic team, you will actively engage in the development of the professional, academic, research and scholarly profile of operating department practice in the College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare.
