Background

The University has embarked on a large change project to replace its current student record system (Unit-e) with the market leading product, SITS, provided by Tribal. As part of this large scale implementation and change programme we are a looking for a small number of individuals to join the core project team. The post(s) will be offered as secondment(s) for up to 2 years with start points at different stages of the project.

The project

The project is designed across 3 discrete releases, Admissions & Curriculum, Finance and Student Records. We aim to go live with phase 1 (Admissions) in September 2022 and subsequently with phase 2 and 3 in September 2023.

During each phase the core delivery team, in consultation with stakeholders, end users and subject matter experts, will capture the business needs, re-map the business processes involved in each area and design the solution by re-drawing the processes around the new product and/or configuring the latter to accommodate our extended requirements.

To deliver successfully on this change project we aim to onboard internal experts to help us with the solution design (strand leads) and the testing and release of the product to users (testers/trainers).

The individual

You will have first-hand experience of one or more aspects of the student lifecycle, working with our current student record system to process applications, student records (assessment, progression etc.) or the curriculum.

You will be able to articulate the student lifecycle journey clearly and describe in technical and/or non-technical terms the processes involved. The ability to document business processes is essential and prior experience of mapping as-is and to be is highly desirable.

You will be a strong communicator and you will be able to work collaboratively with both the other team members and the stakeholders/ business process owners.

You will be familiar with the nuances of our business processes and how these are reflected in Unit-e.

You will think outside the box and consider how to improve existing processes and how to design new ones where appropriate.

You will be a problem solver, able to work on your own initiative.

You will be comfortable working to tight deadlines and flexible to work outside strict office hours if the need arises.

To express your interest, please provide your CV and a supporting statement on why you think you are a suitable candidate for this project. For informal queries please contact me at Konstantinos.tzortzis@uwl.ac.uk
