London College of Music is placed within the University of West London as a leading modern university specialising in the education and development of exceptional creative, business and service professionals. London College of Music is the largest specialist music and performing arts institution in the UK, delivering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from BA and BMus through to PhD and DMus.  Based at the Ealing campus, the London College of Music boasts exceptional facilities for performance and studio technology.  We are looking to appoint a number of Hourly Paid Lecturers in Music Technology. 

Working closely with LCM staff module and course leads, the successful candidates will provide hourly paid tutoring for modules within the field of music technology.  Experience and skills in teaching and from industry in the following areas are particularly sought:

  • Digital audio networking
  • Location recording
  • Network control of audio, video, comms and lighting systems for integrated performance networks
  • Location video
  • Comms (clearcom, riedel etc.)
  • RF in events (mics, IEM etc.)
  • General event technical setup
  • Audio Post Production
  • Lighting Design
  • Sound System Design (specialising in line array)

Tutors will be required to undertake teaching duties including marking, examining and related course administration.  Tutors with industry experience will be particularly encouraged to draw on their links with the professional sector in order to enhance potential employment opportunities for graduates of the degree programme.

We are looking for a recognised and talented practitioners and tutors within the field who possesses:

  • Relevant teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • An awareness of current digital technology in support of the curriculum.
  • Knowledge and expertise regarding the particular demands of music technology and production within the current industry and be in a position to assist each student to reach their own potential.

To be responsible for the delivery of a specific discipline within the curriculum of undergraduate courses in music technology.

To contribute to the successful delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and units of teaching as members of a teaching team.

To be responsible for undertaking assessment and examining duties.

To use existing links and develop new ones with the industry in order to enhance the potential employment of graduates.
