The Department 

Library Services is at the heart of the student and academic experience at the University of West London, facilitating creation of knowledge and ideas and developing confident, critically information-literate professionals. We place particular value on supporting our institutional mission of extending higher education to those traditionally excluded from it, and in facilitating research and scholarship in ways that connect with equity and widening participation. 

The Role 

The post holder will lead on and develop areas relating to the Scholarly Communication driven by the new UWL Research and Scholarship strategy. Particularly, they will proactively build, develop and maintain relationships with staff and students to promote and advocate for open access agendas. The post holder will also work collaboratively with support colleagues across the institution to ensure effective management of the research lifecycle.  They will be responsible for effectively using and developing research information systems.  

The Person

Applicants will have knowledge of developments in higher education and their implications for libraries as well as experience of working with a repository system.  They will be effective managers and have the ability to build relationships with colleagues across the institution.
