The Department

Library Services is at the heart of the student and academic experience at the University of West London, facilitating creation of knowledge and ideas and developing confident, critically information-literate professionals. We place value on supporting our institutional mission of extending higher education to those traditionally excluded from it, and in facilitating research and scholarship in ways that connect with equity and widening participation. 

The Role 

The post holder will lead UWL’s Library’s work on embedding principles of open research in practice and culture across the University and its broad range of disciplines. Particularly, they will proactively build, develop and maintain relationships with staff and students across all Schools and Colleges and research institutes, advocating for openness in research and scholarship lifecycles and drawing on existing knowledge of subject-specific best practices. They will design the delivery of services which support cultures of openness in research and scholarship at UWL.

The Person

Applicants will have knowledge of developments in higher education and their implications for libraries as well as experience of working with a repository or equivalent system.  They will be effective communicators and should have the ability to build relationships with colleagues across the institution.
