Trainee Technician - Simulation Centre - Fixed Term - 4 Months

Our Simulation Centres provide a simulated learning experience in which large numbers of nurses, midwives, assistant practitioners and other health care professionals integrate clinical care, physiology, and communication knowledge and skills in a safe, non-threatening environment.

Located at both the University's Brentford site and the Berkshire Institute for Health, the centres provide an opportunity for students to practice and develop competence with confidence using 'state-of-the-art' facilities, whilst being supported by dedicated academic, clinical, technical and administrative staff.

You would work under the direction of our full time technicians to provide support to staff and students within the Simulation Centre with regards to the use of equipment and learning resources available.

You will also manage computer based learning activities and technical equipment within the simulation centre, taking responsibility for the operation of the simulation centre audio –visual system.

Working in the simulation centre, you’ll contribute to the efficient organisation of resources within the centre and adherence to health and safety requirements, in accordance with needs of students and internal/external users and visitors.

You don’t need to have worked in a simulation centre before. All we ask is that you have some rudimentary knowledge of human anatomy and a willingness to learn.

Interviews are scheduled to take place week commencing 12 August 2019.

An Enhanced DBS Certificate is required for this post (to be undertaken upon appointment)
