We are seeking a Lecturer in Dementia Care and Elderly Mental Health.  The successful candidate will lead the delivery and continuing development of the MSc Dementia Care and contribute to the integration of dementia care within modules and/or courses (pre-registration and CPD), offered by the College. This will encompass Nursing, Midwifery, Operating Department Practice, Health Promotion and Public Health, Nursing Associates and Assistant Practitioner courses.

As a member of the academic team, you will assist in the development of the professional, academic, research and scholarly profile of the college. Where appropriate you will also support learners and mentors/supervisors in clinical practice.

You will hold a first degree in Nursing or relevant healthcare subject and current registration with the NMC and have extensive clinical experience caring for the frail elderly and people with dementia. You will have experience of teaching and assessment in a clinical or higher education setting.  A Master’s degree and teaching qualification are desirable but not essential. For successful applicants without relevant teaching qualifications then they will join the UWL Academic Professional degree apprenticeship scheme supporting the UK government’s commitment to up skill the UK workforce.

The post requires candidates with enthusiasm, self-motivation, ability to manage their own workload and a willingness to work as part of team and commit to the University’s vision and values.

You must be able to work across the College’s two main sites of delivery:

Delivery on healthcare organisation sites across Berkshire and London may also be required occasionally.
