The Role 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare (CNMH) as our Lead for Healthcare Partnerships (Senior Lecturer). The role is varied and will encompass the following:


You will:

  • Work with employers to establish apprenticeship course indicative numbers and support the recruitment process, promoting a good overall ‘first impressions’ experience for both the employer and apprentice.
  • Distribute progress reports to employers.
  • Undertake apprenticeship data checks, ensuring the details on the ILR are correct for all CNMH apprentices.
  • Have oversight of the compliance metrics required for apprenticeships i.e. attendance monitoring, completion of Record of Progress, Apprenticeship Support Link Tutor Visits.
  • Work with the central University apprenticeship team, Functional Skills team and employers to update apprentices English and maths status (ensuring this is in place prior to Gateway), where this is not held on entry.
  • Attend CNMH and wider University apprenticeship working groups as relevant/designated by the Deputy Dean.

Planning re Fee Paying Pre-Registration Target Numbers

You will:

  • Work with healthcare partners to confirm the number of fee paying pre-registration students they are able to support and provide updates re recruitment progress and the final recruitment position. 


You will:

  • Teach 0.2FTE across the CNMH apprenticeship provision, as relevant to your professional registration. 

The Person 

As a member of the academic team, you will also actively engage in professional development and research/scholarly activity as per UWL Academic Framework.  

The post requires enthusiasm, self-motivation, ability to manage your own workload and a willingness to commit to the University’s vision and values.

You will hold a Masters Degree, teaching qualification and current professional registration with either the NMC/HCPC. 

You will have knowledge and/or experience of supporting apprenticeship delivery in a NHS/Higher Education setting and experience of delivering learning and teaching in a higher education setting. 

You will be liaising closely with our healthcare partners/apprenticeship employers, as such excellent interpersonal and communication skills are vital.
