The College

The College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare (CNMH) is the largest School in UWL and a major provider of pre-registration and post-qualifying nursing, midwifery, paramedic, ODP, public health and apprenticeship education in London and Berkshire (undergraduate to doctoral).

The Role 

We have an exciting opportunity available for you to join our innovative and friendly team as a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for the Nursing Associate Apprenticeship.

We recruit to x2 intakes per year for the Nursing Associate Apprenticeship (May and December – 90 places per cohort), with each intake allocated a dedicated course leader.

The Person

You will be a Course Leader, Module Leader, Personal Tutor, Academic Assessor and Apprenticeship Support Link Tutor supporting students/apprentices in theory and practice. You'll lead the development, management and delivery of high quality, engaging evidence-based modules, on our NMC 2018 pre-registration nursing associate and nursing courses. 

You will hold a Masters Degree (or be near to completion), teaching qualification, current registration with the NMC (as an adult nurse) and have experience of delivering the above in a UK higher education setting. 

You will possess good IT and excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be enthusiastic and self-motivated and able to manage your time effectively.  

As a senior member of the academic team, you will support the Quality Lead for Apprenticeships and Professional Leads for Nursing and engage in scholarly/research activity in line with the UWL Academic Framework.

We welcome applications from individuals who do not have a fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA). Should you be successful and do not hold an HEA fellowship you will be asked to complete one within 2 years of appointment as a condition of your continued employment. Depending on eligibility this may take the form of an advanced Level 7 apprenticeship in teaching which means that you will spend 20% of your work in off-the-job study.

An Enhanced DBS Certificate is required for this post (to be undertaken upon appointment).
