The School - 

School of Human and Social Sciences offers a full range of awards from foundation degrees to undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees. Our courses and areas of expertise include Criminology and Policing, Psychology, Education, Addiction Studies, Forensic Science, Nutritional Therapy, Politics and International Relations. Our courses are accredited by professional bodies in the sciences, for example, The British Psychological Society and the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), Forensic Science is accredited by the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences, Addiction studies by the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals and the Nutritional studies course by Nutritional Therapy Education Commission (NTEC). We are rated as 3rd in London for psychology courses and 2nd in London for forensic science courses by the Guardian University Guide 2020.

The Role - 

We are seeking applications from highly motivated candidates to contribute to teaching in the area of, but not limited to, Counselling Modules. The successful applicant will be appointed at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level depending on experience. The successful candidate will be expected to lead modules, tutorials, seminars and lectures as required, as well as supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research projects. Applicants are expected to contribute to the research and publication profile of the department as well as engage in enterprise activities.

The Person - 

This is an exciting opportunity for suitably qualified candidates who should hold a PhD in Psychology (or be very close to completion) with a demonstratable track record of research in the field commensurate with the point in career. The role holder should have relevant experience of teaching in Higher Education Sector and be able to teach modules. Additionally, they must be able to work flexibly, work as part of a team and be prepared to support students in reaching their full potential. The post holder will be expected to be research active and to contribute to the research output, scholarship and enterprise of the department.
