The School 

At the School of Human and Social Sciences, we offer a full range of awards from foundation degrees and Certificates in Personal and Professional Development (CPPD) to undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees. Our courses and areas of expertise include Criminology and Policing, Psychology, Education, Addiction Studies, Forensic Science, Nutritional Therapy, Politics and International Relations. Our courses are accredited by professional bodies in the sciences, for example, The British Psychological Society and the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), Forensic Science is accredited by the Chartered Society of Forensic Science, Addiction studies by the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals and the Nutritional studies course by Nutritional Therapy Education Commission (NTEC). Our psychology research facilities include state-of-the-art brain imaging electroencephalogram (EEG), eye tracking equipment and a range of experiment and research software. We provide access and a high standard of support for use of these facilities.

The Role  

We are seeking applications from highly motivated candidates to contribute to teaching in the area of, but not limited to, Developmental Psychology. The successful candidate will be expected to lead modules, tutorials, seminars and lectures as required, as well as supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.  This is a part-time role on a fixed term one year contract to cover teaching buy out.

The Person 

This is an exciting opportunity for suitably qualified candidates who should hold a PhD in Psychology (or be very close to completion) with a demonstratable track record of research in the field commensurate with the point in career. The role holder should have relevant experience of teaching in Higher Education Sector and be able to contribute to the delivery and leadership of modules. Additionally, they must be able to work flexibly, work as part of a team and be prepared to support students in reaching their full potential.
