The Department 

 Student Services is a large multi-disciplinary team that plays a crucial role in supporting our students. The Placement and Employment Service engage with employers, students, academic schools, central service departments and the local community to expand the choice and quality of employment opportunities on offer across disciplines with the aim of enhancing our students’ exposure to the world of work.     

The Role 

The University of West London are seeking an enthusiastic and Placement Service Manager to manage work experience recruitment projects and employer provisions to increase work experience opportunities for our students. The successful candidate will manage internal and external stakeholders whilst supporting the development of our growing work experience provision. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a team and shape the next phase of development for the UWL Placement and Employment Service. 

 The role is centered on our mission to support UWL students and graduates to achieve graduate level employment and is an incredibly rewarding and varied position within the university. The successful candidate will enjoy brokering meaningful industry partnerships, lead a team to support high-level institution-wide events, represent the university at a range of internal and external events, play a key role in the development of our work experience offering.

The Person

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills, the ability to problem solve and work well under pressure, a demonstrable customer service ethos, and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in both written and verbal format. 

You will also have proficient IT skills including experience of using and customising CRM database systems to improve service delivery and manage priorities.  The position is an excellent opportunity to make a difference at a high performing modern and diverse London university.
