The Department
Student Services is a large multi-disciplinary team that plays a crucial role in supporting our students. Student Advice and Immigration comprises advice on Student Finance, UWL’s internal Scholarships and Bursaries and Student visa and immigration advice in order to support international students. We are a hard-working yet sociable and close-knit team who help and support each other to provide a superlative student experience.
The Role
The post holder will undertake casework, and provide support and guidance to students and staff in respect of a range of practical advice issues, including immigration, fee region assessment and Student visa regulations. The post holder is expected to contribute to the provision of a professional and specialist advice and guidance service to all students, to encourage their academic progress and student retention.
This appointment requires a flexible approach to working hours as weekend and evening cover is required, as well as working across our main campuses in Ealing and Brentford.
The Person
We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to join the Student Advice team in this permanent role. You will be self-motivated, proactive and extremely organised, who can work equally well as a team member and using your own initiative. You should have excellent interpersonal, communication, advocacy and customer service skills with proven case work experience and the ability to work closely with students and staff alike. Experience of working in higher education is essential together with extensive knowledge of UK Student immigration.
